Dr Zehra Ersahin is an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist whose work is primarily situated within mental health and health sciences research, with a focus on understanding psychological processes underpinning mental health difficulties in clinical populations. She holds a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from the University of Manchester and works at the interface of clinical research, mental health, and digital health contexts.
Her research examines psychological mechanisms and processes associated with trauma, distress, and mental health outcomes, including the impact of online psychotherapy, trauma exposure, and contextual stressors on mental health functioning. Her work contributes to the development of evidence-informed models of mental health and clinical formulation, with relevance to health and life sciences–oriented research into mental health and wellbeing.
Dr Ersahin has contributed to internationally recognised academic publications, including The SAGE Handbook of Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Handbook of Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy, reflecting her engagement with contemporary clinical research and theory.
